Barry Nkosi (aka ‘Ironman’) -Stroke survivor
I got to know about the stroke survivor foundation when I was in hospital in 2014 admitted for stroke. I was looking for hope, to face life after such an event. I started reading and researching a lot about Stroke and that’s when I came across George Scola’s journey as a stroke survivor which motivated me to see beyond my limitation.
I was then invited to a Stroke Survivors Get together and this is where we met in person and my journey with the SSF began. I joined the SSF in 2018 as a volunteer to spread the awareness of stroke and how it affects an individual within a community, also how it changes the perception of an individual within a family. SSF has rekindled my passion for being a humanitarian.
